Folios 283-284: James Nash, HMS Loire, Plymouth Sound. Reports his arrival yesterday in the late evening in HMS Loire from Halifax, having charge of a Convoy consisting of 15 Sail, sailed from Halifax on the 22 November 1814 with orders to call off the Gut of Canso, [details of the weather]. Having General Kempt on board, with Dispatches for Government, also 130 American Prisoners and the ship is in a very bad and dangerous state of health so he put into the first Port [he could]. He reports that ill health has obliged him to quit HMS Saturn and make a change with Captain Thomas Brown, late of this Ship.
