Description (What the record is about)

Folios 97-98: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. Reply to letter dated 3 March 1806 directing him to state the cases of William Williams and John Aselby. He states (1) William Williams was impressed in November 1805 by Lieutenant William Parker of the [HMS] Cleveland Tender - application was made to the late Board of Admiralty and his case was then stated to him - The vessel he was taken from was laid up for sale, was alongside a Wharf with a Broom at her Mast Head and had a clean swept hole. He did consider it necessary an Able Seaman should be kept as a Shipkeeper. (2) John Aselby has been discharged in consequence of producing a Certificate for HMS Royal William of his having found two substitutes.
Folios 99-100: enclosure with folios 97-98. Letter dated 27 February 1806 by Isaac Toby & Co, Saltash, to the Admiralty. Requests the discharge of William Williams Mate of the Brig Young Jane.
Folios 101-102: enclosure with folios 97-98. Letter dated 2 March 1806 by Eliza Aselby, Bristol, to the Admiralty. Requests the discharge of her Husband John Aselby.
