Folios 238-239: James Nash, HMS Falcon, at the Nore. Replying regarding John Pietre Schmid, a Prussian, who, on finding him to be a Foreigner, was immediately put on shore at Galleons Reach.
Folios 240-241: enclosure with folios 238-239. Letter dated 23 April 1801 from John [White?] 51 Burr Street, East Smithfield to the Admiralty. Explaining that John Pieters Schmid, being a native and legal subject of the King of Prussia, was impressed from a Ship partly owned by him called the Effort [Captain Kerss?] which was bound for Sunderland. Advising that he was carried onboard [James] Nash's ship HMS Falcon in Galleons Reach and making a case for him not being a fit person to serve.
