Folios 93-94: Donald MacLeod, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Replying to Admiralty letter of 16 and 17 July states that the books at the Rendezvous record the following details of men impressed: Joseph Taylor, aged 13 years born in Manchester. William Davis, aged 18 years born in Liverpool. William Collins stated in his 16 July letter to Admiralty. Joseph Lamb, aged 15 years and born in Manchester. James Chadwick, aged 23 years and born in Lynn. Edward Hawker, aged 21 years born in Middleburgh. Returns enclosures.
Folios 95-96: enclosure with folios 93-94. Letter from [?] Lamb, No. 67 Lombard Street, Manchester to Admiralty dated 10 July 1810. States son, Joseph Lamb, enticed away by other boys, who were with him on the Princess at Liverpool. Requests his discharge as is her principal support, her husband and elder son both serving in HM 36th Regiment. Encloses certificate by which he was formerly discharged (not with letter) from the Princess for the same reason.
Folios 97-98: enclosure with folios 93-94. Letter from Mary Taylor, [?] Street, Manchester to the Admiralty dated 11 July 1810. Writes regarding her 12 year old son was impressed on 2 July. She has a son, Samuel Taylor who was on HMS Derwent and now in HMS [?]. She is widowed with four children younger than son, Joseph Taylor now on HMS Princess. Asks for him to be discharged. Encloses letter from son Samuel Taylor when on the Derwent.
Folios 99-100: enclosure with folios 93-94. Letter from Samuel Taylor, HMS Derwent, Seaford Roads to parents dated 21 November 1809. States that they are cruising in search of French privateers and anticipates will shortly go to Spithead for further Orders.
Folios 101-102: enclosure with folios 93-94. Letter from William Dixon & Co., Liverpool to the Admiralty dated 12 July 1810. Request the discharge of Samuel Chadwick who was appointed Master of the Brig William. This vessel was loaded with goods for sale on the Island of St Kitts. Samuel Chadwick had also been charged to deal with the sale of the goods. Says they will materially suffer if deprived of his services.
Folios: 103-103A: enclosure with folios 93-94. Letter from Richard Davies, Liverpool to Admiralty dated 12 July 1810. States he is a poor labouring man with six children, one a cripple and he afflicted with asthma which has meant he could do very little work for five years. Asks for his son to be discharged and requests letters are addressed to him at No. 7 Mill Place, Shawsbrow.
Folio 104-105: enclosure with folios 93-94. Letter from J. Meddowcroft, Gray's Inn to the Admiralty dated 14 July 1810. Encloses Petition for discharge of William Collier.
Folios 106-107: enclosure with folios 93-94. Petition by John Macaulay, James Oldfield and William Steel of Liverpool Glass Manufacturers and proprietors of the Liverpool Glass Works. They are petitioning for the discharge of William Collins, one of their servants and like their Foreman, Robert Macfarland do not believe William Collins was ever at sea.
