Folios 292-293: Thomas Lavie, Chatham. Encloses lists of men who have enrolled along the River [Medway] in this district and that of Gillingham. Advises no one has enrolled at Maidstone and no Officer has arrived at Milton since Lieutenant Sherwin left and he believes that 150 volunteers are ready to join the Sea Fencibles there. Advises he has a plan in his possession for making the barges useful in the River, which he believes the Admiralty has been given a copy of by Lord Romsey, but he awaits their direction.
