Folios 239-240: Samuel Hood Inglefield, 23 Norfolk St, Strand. He has been advised that on the muster books of HMS Malta, when under his command - from 10 November 1813 to 12 January 1815 - it seems that slops were over issued to the men, to the amount of £15 13s 5d, and the Commissioners have said this amount should be deducted from his pay. Says that the men who received the slops were boat crews on arduous duty before Tarragona and on the east coast of Spain, cooperating with the Army - their clothes were frequently lost or ruined by the boats being swamped and the nature of the work. But he says a sufficient sum from pay owed to them remains to cover the cost, so asks their Lordships to deduct that amount from his pay.
