Referring to the letter by Edward Pellew about HMS Rodney quitting the Mediterranean and his being an officer in the habit of resisting the authority of his superiors etc. Now that Pellew returned to England he wishes officially to refute the accusations against him. He believes that the problems started before he took command of the Rodney.
