Folios 620-621: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query of 26 November, says that Andrew McClennan is an Able Seaman, but Hue doubts he is a Mate as claimed - an Able Seaman was offered in his place but Hue had said it must be referred to their Lordships. William Williams is also an Able Seaman who has had no regular protection in the last two years, and William Flood is a Landman, sent on board by the Civil Power.
Folios 622-623: enclosure with folios 620-621. Letter dated 24 November 1800 by R. Kirkpatrick, asking for the discharge of William Flood, impressed the previous Wednesday and now aboard HMS Actaeon, as he is apprenticed to John Waltham[?] for 7 years not yet expired, and was never at sea. Encloses his indentures [not now present].
Folios 624-625: enclosure with folios 620-621. Letter dated 24 November 1800 by R. Kirkpatrick, Liverpool, saying Andrew McClennan is chief mate of a coasting vessel, the Hopewell, under Captain David Bane, and his services are much needed for their trade.
Folio 626: enclosure with folios 624-625. Deposition of Captain David Bane, of the Hopewell, 76 tons, who says McClennan was impressed as he went aboard the vessel which was at the time in dry dock at Liverpool.
Folios 627-628: enclosure with folios 620-621. Letter dated 24 November 1800 by R. Kirkpatrick,Liverpool, saying William Williams is a boatswain rigger belonging to the port, also he has a wife and family entirely dependent on his labour. Asks for his discharge or terms for release.
