Folios 597-598: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query of 8 November, says he finds the real name of James Farrington to be William Farrington, and as stated by Mr Corf he is over 50, with a wife and children. Hue cannot be sure he has never been at sea, but thinks it unlikely from the man's appearance.
Folios 599-600: enclosure with folios 597-598. Letter dated 6 November 1800 by Benjamin Corf, Liverpool, saying he is sure that James Farrington has never been employed at sea, only in flats on the canals, and further that he is 'an old man... upwards of 50', with a wife and 3 children dependent upon his labour. Asks for his discharge.
