Folios 515-516: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query of 7 October, says that William Owen has been examined and seems to be as stated in Mr Onslow's letter, so he has discharged the man as directed.
Folios 517-518: enclosure with folios 515-516. Letter dated 4 October 1800 by Mr Onslow, Custom House, Liverpool who says that William Owen is a mariner in the Customs service at Liverpool, a member of the crew belonging to the Viper cutter who had been sent ashore for provisions. He had 'imprudently come without his certificate of service' and was impressed. Asks for the man's release.
