Folios 88-90: Henry Richard Glynn, Regulating Captain, Poole Rendezvous. Reports that Thomas Couk was impressed on 29 [March 1808] by Lieutenant Hiatt out of the Portsmouth sloop. He told me he was between 18 and 19 years old. There was no age inserted on his indenture. His Master never claimed him as being under age but said he was never at sea before being apprenticed. He was informed he had been 4 years [at sea].
Folios 90-91: enclosure with folios 88-90. Letter dated 6 May 1808 from Thomas Ferguson, 3 George Yard, Lombard Street, [London] to J Barrow. Encloses a copy of the baptism register of Thomas Couk [not present], a lad only 17 years of age who was impressed towards the end of march at Poole and sent on board HMS Proselyte where he is not detained. Asks for his immediate discharge.
