Folios 297-298: James Grant, Raven, Spithead. Reporting his suspicions of the Portugese schooner loaded with enemies' property from Vigo, but is concerned not to infringe the neutrality. He wante to be reassured that the cargo did belong to Portugese merchants. He fell in with the English Brig [Ajunario] of Dartmouth, bound to Viana from Newfoundland and asked the Master to note any boats of suspicious appearance. Enclosed letter from the Master to shed light on the treatment British subjects are liable to in Portugal.
Folio 299: enclosure with folios 297-298. Instruction to send copy of letter [not present] to Francis Vincent, Principal Secretary of State fo the Foreign Departments.
