Folios 246-247: Thomas Le Marchant Gosselin, HMS Audacious, Cawsand Bay. Reporting major damage to his ship after a severe gale. Encloses a log of the ship which indicates the defects which must be made good if the ship is to be of any use. Also encloses a copy of a memorandum received from Captain Atkins of HMS Seine which has given an account of the enemy's squadron seen by an American vessel.
