Folios 53-54: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Concerning the cases of Robert Rowlett, 22, and John Barnes, 24, who were impressed by Lieutenant Consett at Sunderland on board a brig from Wisbech where they were employed before the mast, these men were detained for the Service being found employed at sea and having no protection.
Folios 55-56: enclosure in folios 53-54. Letter dated 17 Nov 1809 from Rev J Chapham [Clapham?] of Walpole, Lynn, Norfolk who reports that Robert Rowlett and John Barnes are both in the Norfolk Battalion of Militia commanded by Col Edward Wodehouse, was present at their ballot and Enrolment as a Deputy Lieutenant, they were apparently trying out one voyage, they are from the Parish of Walpole St Andrew and he is requested by their friends and the officers of this Parish to request their discharge.
