Description

Folios 304-305: Samuel Butcher, HMS Antelope at sea [position given]. Explains that he was compelled to put into Baerhaven to prevent the separation of the convoy due to the westerly wind, thick weather and the scandalous inattention by the Masters of the Merchant Trade to his signals and due to the winds was detained there until 15 July 1814. Transmits the Log of Proceedings from time of leaving Portsmouth to his arrival at Baerhaven [item not enclosed].
