Minutes record meetings of Provisional Committee of Rugby, Leamington & Warwick Railway Company from 8th September 1845, and Company was incorporated as Rugby & Leamington Railway Company under act of 13th August 1846.
Under Section 38 of act, on completion of works, company were to grant to London & Birmingham Railway Company lease of railway in perpetuity and, under Section 44, authority was given to sell undertaking to London & Birmingham Railway Company; Minute of 17th October 1846 records copy of conveyance which was authorised to be duly sealed by Minute of 17th November 1846.
London & Birmingham Railway Company, Grand Junction Railway Company and Manchester & Birmingham Railway Company were consolidated to form London and North Western Railway Company which subsequently became vested in London Midland & Scottish Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
