Incorporated under act of 23rd July 1858. Under Midland Railway (New Lines and Additional Powers) Act 21st July 1863 (Sections 54-75), provision was made for transfer of Company to Midland Railway Company and for dissolution thereof after certain requirements had been fulfilled.
By Minute of Midland Railway Board, No. 6842, of 4th October 1865 it was ordered that solicitors be instructed to complete purchase and transfer of undertaking to Midland Railway, and by Minute No. 7074 dated 14th August 1866 it was ordered that seal of Midland Railway Company be affixed to formal transfer of Redditch Railway Company to Midland Railway Company.
Redditch Railway Company continued to hold its half-yearly meetings until 1874 when, under terms of Midland Railway (Additional Powers) Act 30th July 1874, stocks of Redditch Railway Company were consolidated into stocks of Midland Railway Company.
Midland Railway Company became part of London Midland and Scottish Railway Company under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
