Acknowledge receipt of your letter acquainting me I am to be tried by a Court Martial upon the charges exhibited against me by the Boatswain of HMS Fortunee and desiring me to send a list of evidences in defence of those & these charges. I beg to name the following and have to request you furnish me with a copy of the circumstances stated to their Lordships by the late Clerk of HMS Fortunee, in case I might require any other evidences; also that you will cause HMS Fortunee's Muster Book for August 1802 and September 1802 to be sent to this Port.
