Incorporated under act of 7th August 1884. By virtue of Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Act 15th July 1897, company was vested in Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as from 1st July 1897 without any deed or conveyance. Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company was amalgamated with London and North Western Railway Company under latter title as from 1st January 1922 under London and North Western and Lancashire and Yorkshire railway companies' Amalgamation Scheme 1921 dated 20th December 1921, and London and North Western Railway Company was amalgamated into London Midland and Scottish Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
