Description

As well as official papers of Ramsay MacDonald as prime minister, foreign secretary and lord president of the Council, the collection contains his political, constituency, personal and literary papers.

There are also family and personal papers of Margaret Ethel MacDonald (née Gladstone) dating back to the eighteenth century, a few early papers of Malcolm MacDonald, and some of Sir Frank Markham assembled for a projected biography.
