Description

Prisoner's name: John Martin.

Prisoner's occupation: A preacher born in Ireland.

Court and date of trial: Committed 16 August 1830.

Crime: A misdemeanour.

Initial sentence: Committed to the New Prison Clerkenwell for one month.

Annotated: nil.

Petitioner: The convict.

Grounds for clemency: Complains that he has not received papers to enable him to prepare for his trial.

Other papers: A letter from John Martin requesting information about his arrest. A letter from John Martin complaining at considerable length about the conduct of the Police, the Magistrates and the Governor of the Prison.
