Gaoler's report: very mischievous; connections believed to be very respectable. Ground for clemency: only 16, not hardened criminal, tempted into crime after leaving home by older boy, first offence, previous good character, respectable family. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: nil. NP 24
