Description

1 collective petition (21 people from Northallerton and Brompton, Yorkshire) on behalf of Joseph Robinson the younger, weaver, convicted at Yorkshire Quarter Sessions Northallerton on 9 July 1827 for stealing 25 yards of linen cloth, property of John Tyennan [John Tyeman]. Gaoler's report: connected with bad characters. Grounds for clemency: good conduct while on board the Cumberland, several people willing to employ prisoner on release, wife and 2 children to support. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: nil. NP 22
