Gaoler's report: character not known. Grounds for clemency: first offence, distress of parents, good character of family, led into crime by 4 young men he had just met while searching for work, convicted on circumstantial evidence, no stolen property found on prisoners, good conduct since transported to New South Wales, now married with 3 children, wife came out as free settler not convict, been in exile over 11 years.
