(i) Label for (ii), made on a fragment concerning a bill of complaint in Whitehall, dated June 1601. (i) Obligation by William Johnson of the parish of St Olaf in Southwark, Surrey, shipwright, to Edmund Freeman of Pulborough, Sussex, 'woodbroker', for £28. Signed, with seal attached. Witness: Edward Bramfeld [Endorsed]: The condition that if Johnson pays £14 on 12 September 1601, at the house of Thomas Bywater, cooper, in the said parish of St Olaf, the obligation will be void.
