(i) Obligation by William Johnson of the parish of St Olaf in Southwark, Surrey, shipwright, to Edmund Freeman of Pulborough, Sussex, 'woodbroker', for £28. Signed, with seal attached. Witness: Edward Bramfeld [Endorsed]: The condition that if Johnson pays £14 on 12 September 1601, at the house of Thomas Bywater, cooper, in the said parish of St Olaf, the obligation will be void.
