Benjamin Franklin CARR, alias Heinz KARFIOL: German, Palestinian, British. CARR enlisted in the RAF in 1940 in Palestine, and was demobilised in the UK in 1946 and naturalised in 1947. In 1951 he claimed, with Werner Emil ARON, to be a correspondent of the 'Manchester Guardian' in Germany and in 1954 was the London correspondent of German newspapers. He came to notice as the result of an unsubstantiated 1946 report that he was involved with a Zionist group
