Description (What the record is about)
- This dataset represents a snapshot of the Anatomy database taken on 12 November 2003, and incorporating data gathered as required under the 1984 Anatomy Act and the associated 1988 Regulations. This dataset comprises 8 tables. The table Disposal_Method (Table 5) is a lookup table for the body disposal codes in the Disposal_Detail table. The Anatomy database was restructured in 1999, following the transfer of the first snapshot. The original 2 tables were expanded to 8, and a greater amount of detail could be recorded. One consequence of the change is that address data, which were previously held in a single field, now occupy 5 fields (including a postcode) in the Address table. Because data held in the earlier version of the database were transferred to the new system, those single-field addresses have been entered in the Address1 field only.
