Description (What the record is about)
- This dataset contains data on Infant and Child Health for the 1999 Compendium of Clinical and Health Indicators (CCHI). It includes details of children immunised against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) and whooping cough in 1997-98; and details of the incidence of measles and whooping cough in 1995-98. Details of the incidence of other conditions such as Down's syndrome, anencephalus, spina bifida and cleft palate in 1996-98 are also covered. The dataset includes tables containing data on stillbirths and child and infant mortality in 1998, and oral health in children between 1994 and 1998. The dataset was compiled using data gathered from a variety of sources including ONS, the Department of Health, the Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre, the National Down Syndrome Cytogenetic Register, Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) and the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry (BASCD). This dataset consists of 54 tables containing various CCHI indicators. Four tables contain data about immunisation; 15 hold data on the notification and incidence of conditions such as measles, Downs syndrome and spina bifida. Two tables cover incidences of low birth weight and stillbirths, 3 contain data on childhood and infant mortality and 3 contain data on hospital procedures. The remaining tables contain data on oral health in children.
