Peter James WHEELER: British. Having joined the Communist Party in 1936, WHEELER acted as its part-time auditor in 1943 while still in the RAF. He was manager of the party's Central Books operation from 1946 and, from 1951 to 1957 the Party's accountant and its nominee on the boards of Rodell Properties, Progressive Tours, Lawrence and Wishart, Farleigh Press, London Caledonian Press and Marx House
