Alan NUNN MAY: British. Alan NUNN MAY was a physicist and member of the British team working on the atomic energy project in Canada between 1943 and 1945. In the latter year he was identified as a GRU agent by the defector GOUZENKO. On his return to Britain NUNN MAY was confronted, confessed to spying, was convicted under the OSA and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. Although he admitted his espionage, he never gave details of how he had been recruited nor identified others involved.
