Eginhard NOTZNY: German. An Abwehr officer since 1922, NOTZNY was Leiter of Ast Koenigsberg [Königsberg] and concerned particularly with the investigation of the Polish Intelligence Service and with the NKFD ('National Komitee Freies Deutschland') activities of Soviet Intelligence with German prisoners of war. On interrogation in 1945 he claimed to be an admirer of Admiral CANARIS and to have been involved in the attempted coup d'etat of July 1944
