Bargain and sale by John Hadnett, of the Vise [Devizes], Wiltshire, yeoman: of property in Wiltshire.
By letters patent under the Exchequer seal 7 Jul 16 Eliz [1574], Elizabeth I granted a house, bam, garden and close adjoining (½ acre) and 1 rood of meadow in Pytt meade, 1 acre of arable upon the Hyll, 2 acres 3 roods in Clayfeilde, and 6 acres of arable in Sandfeilde [Sandfield in Potterne], parcel of the queen's manor of Cherington, otherwise Chirton, Wiltshire, (late parcel of the possessions of the late priory of Llanthon [Llanthony II Priory], Gloucestershire, and late of the yearly rent of 6s 8d), to John Hadnett, for 21 years, at 6s 8d a year.
Assignment to Thomas Poulton, of Chirton, yeoman.
