By letters patent 11 Feb 11 Chas I [1636], the manor of Hornesey [Hornsea] in Holderness, Yorkshire, parcel of land called Cowbrinckhill (16 acres), parcel of land called Conyhill (14 acres), parcel of land east of Snawden (10 acres), parcel of arable land west of Snawden (14 acres), pasture called Little Garthe, lying round Wolstrey [Wolsty in Holme Cultram] castle (1 rood), parcel of meadow called the Pingle in Wolsty Cowbeir, in the lordship of Holme Cultram, Cumberland (1 acre), at 30s a year, (parcel of the possessions of the late monastery of Holme Cultram [Holme Cultram Abbey], Cumberland), granted to William Scriven, now deceased, and Philip Eden.
