This series consists of records concerning the Engineering Intelligence Division's provision of comprehensive information on all aspects of highway and traffic engineering work and its responsibility for formulating specifications for methods and materials used in road construction. The series also includes files on the Division's experimental work on soils and road materials for which it liaised with the Road Research Laboratory and the British Standards Institute. It includes some records of the Highways Standards Committee.
