Description

This series contains weekly diaries of visiting officers of metropolitan casual wards. The diaries give inter alia the number of vagrants in the wards at the time of inspection, the number of habitual vagrants identified, and the number undergoing detention. Interspersed among the diaries are applications for leave, and a few letters relating to the death of individual visiting officers and applications for vacant posts.
