Description

'Notes in circulation, not covered by gold': forwards a resolution suggested by Mr S Wolffsohn and supported by the Legislative Council regarding a proposal to investigate funds lacking in the colony and a request for $4997 'lost in connection with the Metzger case' to be transferred from Public Funds to the funds of the Commissioners of Currency; the Council, with the exception of Mr Pearce, opposed Mr Usher's proposal that the transfer should not take place until the conclusion of a Public Commission of Enquiry; the transfer is agreed and authorised; Mr Cuthbert and Mr Schofield are also mentioned as Council members. No 29, folios 156-162.
