Copy letter from Joseph Glynn commenting on the conditions of engines and boilers in ships at Woolwich. The machinery is generally well made but has suffered corrosion and other adverse effects. The bedding of boilers and the quality of engineers currently in service are discussed. Reference is made to interference on the part of sea Officers and the lack of status of engineers. Propose the establishment of a corps of Marine Engineers.
