Note. Sir Byam Martin to Mr Croker. Acknowledges letters from Messrs Buchanan and Lockwood about obtaining live oak timber from Louisiana. Has written to Mr Buchanan explaining the objections, first to the mode of dealing suggested and secondly, relating to other parties in the offer, connected with terms and the little time there is for resorting to the source of supply pointed out by Mr Buchanan. Sir Byam Martin has asked for the letters in question to be kept with former correspondence on the subject.
