Memorial of John Lemon, late warder at the gate of Leith yard. He has served nearly 18 years as a Seaman and Petty Officer and upwards of 7 years as a warder of that yard, having entered the Daphne under Captain Christian in 1787, where he remained until paid off. In 1803 he was sent to the Victory, in which, under the command of Lord Nelson, he continued until after the Battle of Trafalgar. In January 1806 he was drafted to the Ocean under Lord Collingwood and served until 1809, when he went to the Salvador del Mundo. He served on the Amethyst and Acasta and under Admiral Sir William Johnstone Hope and R W Otway. Asks to be considered for a pension. He receives a pension of £4 for a hurt received on the Acasta.
