John Wilson Croker. We wrote on 18th September on Lieutenant Green's plan for fidding and unfidding the topmasts of ships. He has complained that the result of that trial on board the Windsor Castle and its comparative expense was not fairly reported. We asked the Resident Commissioner at Plymouth to order the Officers there to reconsider the subject. Are sending a copy of their report and opine it is not advisable to adopt Lieutenant Green's plan in HM service.
