John Wilson Croker. Lieutenant Edward Kingston Foley's agent has written about payment of his pension. Mr Evans is incorrect in stating the opinion of Council to be against Mr Brent's claim and we state the circumstances which concerned Lieutenant Foley's debts to both Mr Brent and Mr Evans. We do not usually interfere in private transactions, but this case appeared so peculiar as to cause us to lay it before the Council for the Admiralty and Navy. State Counsel's opinion and give advice to the Navy Board on future action and detail of correspondence with Mr Brent. Until legal determination or agreement between the parties is received, the Bill will be withheld. No letter has been received from Lieutenant Foley.
