Description (What the record is about)
-
John Wilson Croker. A petition was received from James Coy of Walwick near Patrington to be allowed the materials of the Signal House at Dimlington in compensation for use of the ground it occupied. No rent has been paid for the use of the ground and it appears the station in question was erected by permission of the owner and tenant. When use was discontinued in 1814, the house was delivered over by Lieutenant Wilson to a Mr Stack of Out Newton near Dimlington. In these circumstances, Mr Coy is at liberty to do what he thinks fit with the house, if justified by his tenure of the land.
