Description

John Wilson Croker. The Admiralty ordered that George Polyblank, Edward Williams and Charles Foster, Quartermen of Shipwrights at Plymouth, are allowed pensions. The latter two claimed hardship in being allowed only half the pension of George Pollyblank. Ask for their memorials to be laid before the Admiralty. Refer to the relevant regulations and point out some resultant anomalies. To remove the resultant hardships, the accompanying table was prepared by the late Mr Payne, and we recommend an appropriate amendment to the Order in Council and that provision is made for the widows of inferior Officers killed in service, in the same manner as is now made for workmen's widows.
