John Wilson Croker. Mr Bayley offered to the Government the purchase of about 61 acres of land in Swanscombe Level, at a fair valuation. Mr Holl reported that this land was within the line of the proposed arsenal and nearly in the centre of the great basin, about 37 acres within the River Wall and with a supply of fresh water. The other 24 acres is less valuable, as it is overflowed at spring tides. Mr. Holl's valuation for all the land is £6,700.
