Petition from Stephen Tadd, Master Mastmaker at Woolwich. Has served 51 years and lists the ships being built, which he has overseen: Rattlesnake cutter, Adamant, Hermione, Charon and Nassau. For the last 18 years served as Master Boatbuilder and Master Mastmaker, is 65 years of age with failing sight, impaired memory and giddiness and asks for superannuiation.
