Copy of a minuteto Mr Addington. It calls for an Act to be passed, giving the Navy Board the right to pre-empt any sale of oak or elm timber, at the price paid by the purchaser, and for heavy penalties to be imposed if there is any collective action taken to artificially raise the prices. It also calls for the duties on foreign oak, fir and pipe staves, to be removed. It also wants the Act to require a certain number of standels (young oak trees) to be left on each acre of coppice when cut.
