Petition of Samuel Reed, Dover. Was formerly employed in sweeping for the anchors and cables lost out of the Fleet under the command of Sir John Norris. In Romney Bay, the Supply hoy was with him but in the time of war we could not keep the grounds for fear of the enemy. He found some of the cables and put buoys upon them but his yawls were not large enough to weigh them so gave Alan Clark half the salvage for carrying them to the Deal Storekeeper. Offers to sweep for them now, he has two yawls and 8 men. Asks for a hoy to weigh them as they are now easy to come at
