Captain Douglas of the Boston has drawn a bill for the hire of a Pilot boat to convey despatches to Captain Bradley of the Cambrian, then at Staten Island and to HM's Consul General at New York. The wardens of the port of New York certify the charge is reasonable and ask for approval.
