William Marsden. Captain Gore of the Medusa states the Hindostan sailed from Gibraltar with her stores stowed in the same way as when she left England. This meant that his men could not get at them. The Woolwich Officers were asked for their comments. They conclude that after the Hindustan left the River, she took on ropemaking machinery for Malta, which the Commander-in-Chief ordered to be taken there directly, causing problems for Captain Gore.
