William Marsden. British subjects at Tunis have claimed subsistence, which has been queried by the Admiralty. We suggested that the apparent irregularities should be accepted on production by Mr. Magra of regular vouchers. This has been done and Mr. Magra has been paid. There are other such accounts, which were allowed to the Consul in 1795 on an informed basis because of local customs and practices, which made it impracticable to follow the relevant Act of Parliament. Recommend that such payments should be approved.
